Construction Management Student Competition

Why this competition important

Student competitions are hands-down, one of the most effective career-building opportunities for participating college students! By learning the steps of putting together a proposal and presentation, these competitions emulate real-world work experiences that lead to an accelerated learning curve and earlier career readiness for participating students—greatly benefiting both the industry and the students.

During these competitions, student teams must create a proposal consisting of a work plan, estimate, schedule, logistics plan, and answers to a number of specialized problems. These competitions test the student’s ability to work in a team, under intense pressure, with a short deadline and gives students an opportunity to put what they have learned in the classroom into practice.

Throughout months of rigorous training, a local industry professional and faculty coaches, including a large contingency of Sac State Construction Management alumni, guide each team. The implementation of this highly successful industry-university training model has fostered a legacy of success for Sac State teams, including 31 Regional and 36 National awards.

We need your help to make this happen!

These results could not have been achieved without generous industry support. This fall, we have 116 Sac State Construction Management students participating in competitions. We need to raise $88,000 by December 31 in order to participate and $125,000 by February to equip our teams for success. We hope you will consider helping us reach our goal and equipping our Sac State students for success.

You can contribute any amount you would like, not just the sponsorship amounts. To do so, click the "Give Now!" button by the main image and designate the amount you would like to contribute. Gifts on any size make a big difference and shows that we stand behind our students!
