Help feed 700 hungry families this Thanksgiving! ASI Food Pantry Every year, Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) collects donations to support Sacramento State students and families in need during the holiday season. In 2026, 51% of Americans are expected to spend between $100 and $200 on Thanksgiving dinner. As our students and their families experience greater financial constraints this year, our students need support now more than ever! In lieu of collecting food items, the ASI Food Pantry is asking for monetary donations of any size. This way, there will be greater buying power and lower the cost to $30 per Thanksgiving food basket to feed an entire family. Please click on 'Give Now' or any tiered level to give a donation amount of your choice. Your donations will be prioritized to add a turkey, ham, and sides to each family’s Thanksgiving dinner. Construction Management Continuing our 2026 fundraising drive, we are evolving our funding model from a traditional sponsorship program to a more donor-centered philanthropic approach. Support Sac State students as they deliver hearing and speech services while preparing to serve communities throughout Northern California. Communication Sciences Students learn by serving their community. Sacramento State’s 27 Doctor of Audiology students conduct hearing evaluations, hearing aid fittings, balance screenings and cerumen management. The university’s 93 graduate speech-language pathology students provide assessment and therapy for clients ages one and older. Through this work, students develop the knowledge and practical skills they will carry into their future professions. At the Maryjane Rees Language, Speech and Hearing Center at Sacramento State, care is provided at no fee to people of all ages throughout the region. Community gifts are what keep that care going. The clinics serve approximately 1,200 audiology patients and more than 500 speech and language clients each year, giving students the opportunity to learn through supervised, hands-on clinical experience. That learning extends beyond campus through the College of Health and Human Services Health Hive, where students participated in 15 community events during the past year, bringing hearing screenings to senior centers, nonprofit organizations and other community settings. Speech-language pathology students also screen preschoolers for speech and language concerns and school-age children for hearing concerns. Your support of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders helps strengthen clinical services through equipment, supplies, and other program needs, including priorities such as: Portable screening audiometer Portable tympanometer Otoacoustic emission screener Two wireless video otoscopes Clinic diagnostic and cerumen management supplies Fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES) scope Portable ultrasound system for speech sound biofeedback If the campaign raises less than its goal, support will be used toward complete equipment and supply purchases in the order identified by the clinics, with any remaining funds staying in the account for the same purpose. Help plan a safer, more accessible teaching kitchen where Sac State students turn nutrition science into practical food preparation skills. Nutrition, Food and Dietetics Students need more than nutrition knowledge; they need opportunities to practice. The Department of Nutrition, Food & Dietetics is planning the next generation of its Nutrition and Food Teaching Kitchen in Mariposa Hall, creating a safer, more accessible and industry-informed environment for hands-on learning. The kitchen’s current traditional home-style layout limits the number of students who can participate in food preparation and makes it more difficult for faculty to demonstrate techniques, monitor workstations and maintain effective sanitation and safety practices. These challenges are especially timely as NUFD expands practical food education through NUFD 5L: Science of Food Laboratory, a new one-unit General Education course that connects food science and nutrition principles with real-world preparation skills. Your support will help this immediate need go from a vision to an actionable plan. The campaign seeks to raise $30,000 to support priority needs, which includes upgrading the Nutrition and Food Teaching Kitchen. This project will help to examine the existing space, explore improved layouts and workflows, assess infrastructure and equipment needs, consider audiovisual technology for recording and livestreaming demonstrations, and develop an initial cost estimate for future renovation. The Department of Nutrition, Food and Dietetics intends to move forward with the project using the funds raised from this campaign. An architectural firm can be selected based on the funding available, which will determine the scope of the feasibility study. This approach will allow the department to make meaningful progress toward a more functional, higher-capacity instructional kitchen while building a foundation for future grants, philanthropic support, and institutional funding and community partnerships. All funds raised above $30,000 will go towards general support of NUFD. Ethnic Studies Department Research grows through opportunity. Students in Sacramento State’s Chicanx & Latinx Studies Program engage with research through their coursework, relationships with faculty, and connections with community. This initiative will extend that learning beyond the classroom by expanding opportunities for students and faculty to participate in research and academic activities. Students are developing and sharing their academic work through experiences such as presenting at conferences, creating research posters, participating in symposia, and engaging with scholars in the broader field of Chicanx & Latinx Studies. These experiences help students build research skills, confidence, professional connections, and a stronger understanding of themselves as researchers and knowledge producers. Support through the Ethnic Studies Annual Fund will help the Chicanx & Latinx Studies Program respond to students’ research and academic needs. Potential activities may include a program research symposium; student participation in conferences such as the National Association for Chicana and Chicano Studies; conference registration; research poster printing; research-related expenses; and workshops focused on research methods and academic development. Help future art educators bring creativity, connection and community advocacy to local schools and families. Art Department Art 148: Barrio Art in the Community carries forward the community-engaged teaching philosophy established by José Montoya and the Royal Chicano Air Force in the 1970s. Offered each fall and spring by the Art Department, the course prepares Sacramento State students to become educators who build meaningful relationships with K–12 students, families and teachers through art. Through Barrio Art, pre-service teachers learn by engaging directly with local communities. Students lead art workshops, visit museums and galleries, create murals and facilitate both in-school and out-of-school activities. They also participate in Sacramento State’s Día de los Muertos event, where they guide art workshops for students from Sacramento City Unified School District. However, the Art Department currently relies on non-guaranteed grant funding to support these experiences and purchase essential supplies. Your gift will help create more reliable funding for museum and gallery trips, silk-screening and stencil workshops, mural projects, art materials and other community-based learning opportunities. Your generosity will help future educators develop the skills to teach through anti-racist, social justice, asset-based and equity-centered approaches. Support KSSU Radio as students build media skills, create programming and strengthen a studen-run community at Sac State. KSSU Radio — ASI For 35 years, KSSU has given Sacramento State students a place to find their voice. Founded as KEDG in 1991, KSSU is a student-run radio station and a beloved program of Associated Students, Inc. (ASI), where students learn on air, behind the decks and alongside a community where they belong. Students are already creating, contributing and connecting through KSSU. Last year, student DJs streamed 106 shows, contributed 1,370 volunteer hours and hosted 11 original events for 3,286 students. This summer, student staff rebuilt the studio by hand, adding accessible, adjustable desks and a built-in DJ deck. Support will help KSSU continue developing its studio, programming and student learning opportunities. In 2026–27, the station plans to complete rewiring and accessibility upgrades while expanding career-skills workshops in editing, graphic design and recording beyond the 72% of DJs reached last year. Future goals include recording live sessions for student artists, adding shows and podcasts in underserved genres, relaunching a student-led newscast and strengthening connections through a KSSU Radio Advisory Board and alumni network. COB Org Wisdom Studio Fast moving technologies are reshaping organizations, professions and the workplace. The College of Business (COB) Organizational Wisdom Studio, led by Professor Hakan Ozcelik, brings scholars, students, practitioners and artists together to explore how emerging technologies may influence the future of work and management. Through live events and video episodes, students engage with timely questions about topics such as AI and organizational life. At a recent live event, students described the experience as “unique” and “eye-opening,” sharing that it helped them “see AI in a new way.” The discussion encouraged students to consider how organizations, professions and employees may be affected by emerging AI trends over the next decade. The next live event will continue this conversation by creating space for students to encounter new perspectives, ask questions and imagine possible career paths through wiser approaches to leadership and management. The Studio’s programming also includes the annual COB Film Festival, which features students’ experimental film projects, as well as video episodes shared through the Wisdom Studio YouTube Channel with audiences around the world. This once-in-a-lifetime experience will give our student-athletes the opportunity to represent Sacramento State internationally, compete against high-level European teams, experience different cultures, and create memories that will last a lifetime. Through funds generated by our volleyball camps, our program is able to cover invaluable experiences, including items such as hotels, meals, local transportation, and competition costs. Country Day Sustainability Club students are partnering with Sacramento State Sustainability to learn through service and see how environmental stewardship can strengthen a community. At Sacramento State's CapRadio Garden, Country Day students get their hands in the soil. They help plant and harvest while learning about aquaponics, composting, pollinators, urban agriculture, renewable energy, and other sustainable practices. Produce grown in the garden also supports Sacramento State's ASI Food Pantry, helping ensure all students have access to fresh food. The partnership connects students through learning and service. Country Day students work alongside Sacramento State students and sustainability professionals, gaining firsthand experience with nationally recognized sustainability efforts that put environmental stewardship into practice.
