Why this competition important
Student competitions are hands-down, one of the most effective career-building opportunities for participating college students! In response to COVID-19 this year’s competitions have moved to a virtual platform.
Though virtual the need for support to compete this year is as great as ever. This year students will be faced with a new set of challenges including need for technology and safe facilities to practice and present during the competition.
In preparation, our students will go through months of rigorous training from local industry professionals and faculty coaches, many of whom are Sacramento State Construction Management alumni themselves. Students will be tasked with creating proposals consisting of work plans, estimates, schedules, and logistics and must answer a number of specialized problems, all of which emulate real-world work experience leading to accelerated learning and career readiness—greatly benefiting both the industry and our students. This highly successful industry-university training model has fostered 32 Regional and 37 National awards.

These results could not have been achieved without generous industry support. This academic year, we have 87 Sac State Construction Management students participating in competitions. We need to raise $75,000 to equip our teams for success.
