In our 6 county region, 344,000 adults have some college, but no degree. And in Sacramento County, 60,000 adults are fewer than 15 units from finishing their degree.
Many college students do not complete their degree for a variety of reasons (work, family, finances, health, etc.) Once away from university life, it can be difficult to return due to personal and financial commitments. Yet an undergraduate degree is critical for employment and career advancement in many fields.
To help these learners and meet the workforce demand for more employees with an undergraduate degree, CCE offers programs designed for working professionals to reengage these individuals and help them on their journey to securing a degree. We believe each adult learner is worthy of completion. We wish to remove the shame, frustration, or stigma associated with stopping out to rebuild their self-confidence and empower them to complete their education. One way we do this is through support from donors like you to provide scholarships. Scholarships help remove the financial barrier for adults returning to complete their degree.
Please consider a gift to support degree completion scholarships for adult learners. Students who fell short of completing their degree face immense barriers returning to school later in life including tuition, transportation, course materials, child care, and time away from work and home. Scholarships help adult learners complete their degree for professional advancements and contribute to economic growth in our community.
