Michal Vachuska Student Legacy Scholarship

On July 31, 2023, Michal Vachuska, loving husband, devoted father, dedicated son, loyal brother, uncle, cherished brother-in-law, son-in-law, and faithful friend, passed away after a brave and courageous battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully with his wife and daughter lovingly by his side. Michal was known as a man of integrity, commitment, and passion for life’s adventures. He loved living life to the fullest, a true skiing enthusiast and inspirational outdoor adventurist! He loved life, music, art, cars, traveling and spending time with his family and friends. His smile could light up a room and he had a way of making others feel valued and important.

It is in this spirit, in lieu of a traditional service, you are invited to honor and celebrate Michal’s life and legacy by giving back to others in the community. In partnership with California State University, Sacramento, a donation to the new Sacramento State Art Sculpture Building and the Michal Vachuska Legacy Student Scholarship award have been established.

These legacy awards speak to Michal’s selfless personality, love of knowledge and learning, and passion for creating and appreciating art. These awards will empower students to fulfill education excellence and pursue their career dreams. Michal earned his bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Sacramento State, where he was introduced to a ceramic class, joined the ski team, and met his “love” (as he tenderly referred to her by this name) and future wife.

Michal will be remembered for all the heart and commitment he shared with his work colleagues, friends, and family. He truly loved each of them and if you knew him you understood his commitment to those he loved. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and love! Beautifully, in quiet moments, he expressed his gratitude for the time he had on this earth to share with those he loved. Michal will be missed dearly.

If you would like to join us in honoring Michal’s life and support the Michal Vachuska Legacy Student Scholarship, please feel welcome.
