Inspired by Lindsey Herring (Alumna Nutrition, Food and Dietetics) and her friends at Sacramento State, The Grace Project aims to promote retention and success among underrepresented students pursuing STEM degrees, by eliminating some of the financial barriers they face.
STEM courses, particularly those with laboratory requirements, often burden students with additional expenses. The Grace Project alleviates financial stress by providing students with the resources they need to succeed in their courses.
The Grace Project provides essential math and science course materials required for STEM to students who otherwise would be unable to afford them.
These materials include but are not limited to:
The resources provided by the Grace Project increases access and provides educational equity for Sac State students.
Our goal is 50 donations of any amount to this essential cause. To sweeten the pot, Dr. Arik Davidyan, Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences will run a mile for each unique donation!
Join us in supporting students in STEM by making a gift to the Grace Project today.
Challenge Accepted: Miles for STEM Support
Dr. Arik Davidyan, Assistant Professor in Biological Science at Sac State, is taking fundraising to the next level with an extraordinary commitment: he will run a mile for every donation received during the Grace Project campaign. Demonstrating incredible dedication to student success, Dr. Davidyan has set an ambitious goal of running up to 77 miles—symbolically matching Sacramento State's age—if donations exceed 50 unique contributions.
This challenge transforms each donation into a tangible representation of support, quite literally converting financial contributions into miles that symbolize the journey of STEM students overcoming barriers. Every donation not only provides essential supplies but also motivates Professor Davidyan to literally go the extra mile for student success.
