The Cooper-Woodson College Enhancement Program (CWC) at Sacramento State transforms students into global leaders through immersive international research experiences. Building on the legacies of the Father of Black History, Carter G. Woodson, and Womanist, Anna Julia Cooper, CWC creates pathways for scholars to explore their professional and personal curiosities while developing critical research skills domestically and internationally.
Within the past two years, we were able to have two faculty-led study abroad opportunities to Egypt (Summer '23) and Brazil (Summer '24).

The same symbols are also embedded in the CWC logo and mission statement connecting the program with the continent and its origin stories.
