Sacramento State Sport Clubs

The Sacramento State Sport Clubs Program consists of 16 highly competitive sport clubs that compete for the University against other universities in leagues, conferences, and tournaments at the local, regional, and national levels. Every year, sport clubs can qualify for and compete in Regional and National Championship competitions. As most sport clubs’ expenses are covered by athlete dues or fundraising, registering for and traveling to these regional and national competitions require most sport club student athletes to pay out of pocket to travel to compete at this level.

We are asking for your help so Sacramento State Sport Club Athletes can live their dreams of competing at the regional and national level by supporting their travel and competition entry fee costs. For clubs that do not qualify for their regional or national tournaments this year – money donated will go towards developing the club in other ways such as league entry fees, equipment, future travel costs, uniforms, etc. Any donated funds will be transferred directly to the club’s ASI bank account for the club to use as needed.

Sacramento State Sport Clubs Program

Baseball:

The Sac State Baseball Club needs your support! As a student-run organization, we face unique challenges in funding our season, and many of our athletes take on significant personal expenses just to represent Sac State on the field. This year, our greatest needs are practice facilities, travel, and lodging. In the spring alone, we’re scheduled to travel more than 1,200 miles, with anticipated costs between $7,500–$10,000. Your contribution —no matter the size— will directly reduce out-of-pocket expenses for our athletes and allow us to stay competitive while proudly representing Sac State. Every dollar helps us get one step closer to our goals. Together, we can keep Sac State Baseball thriving! Thank you for supporting our team and believing in our athletes.

Cheer:

The Competitive Cheer Club is asking for your help in raising money to support and finance our upcoming College Cheer Nationals trip in April of 2026. Donations are greatly appreciated to help reduce our athletes' out-of-pocket expenses. We are specifically in need of assistance when it comes to choreography, gear, and meals. With around 40 athletes competing with our club, we anticipate these expenses will be a large financial burden to many. All financial contributions will greatly support our student athletes and help us to achieve our club's goals!

Dance:

The Competitive Dance Club is asking for your help in raising money to support and finance our club expenses and reduce our athletes' out-of-pocket expenses. As a student-run organization, we are the only D1 Dance Team in our division to represent California, and we do it with the utmost pride. All financial contributions will help our student athletes achieve their goal of traveling to Florida to represent Sac State at the National Dance Alliance National Competition.

Esports:

The Esports Club is asking for your help to support to continue to enhance our student athlete's experiences. As the Esports club, our priority is to ensure that our members thrive in an environment that helps develop their leadership and communication skills in a competitive or non-competitive all while having fun through gaming. Without a dedicated esports lounge or room, there is no space where members can compete and meet in person. Our main goal is to raise money to support the expenses of building an esports lounge and the necessary equipment to fill it. We estimate these expenses to range between $150,000-$500,000. This would include the cost of the facility, gaming computers, decorations and signs to represent Sac State, and other gaming accessories. All contributions will help support the success of our student athletes, help us reach our goal of having an esports space on campus, and support travel expenses for competitions and team building activities.

Men's Soccer:

The Men’s Soccer Club is excited to kick off another competitive season, and we’re asking for your support to help make it a success. As a student-run team, we rely heavily on fundraising to cover the costs of travel, equipment, and tournament fees. This spring, we are striving to compete in the US College Soccer Association National Playoffs, where we’ll have the opportunity to represent our school on a larger stage. Our projected expenses for travel, lodging, and gear range between $7,500 and $10,000, and every contribution goes directly toward easing the out-of-pocket costs for our athletes. Your generosity not only helps us compete, but also strengthens our program, giving student-athletes the chance to grow both on and off the field. Thank you for considering a gift to our team, we’re grateful for your support and look forward to making this season our best yet!

Men’s Volleyball:

The Men's Volleyball Club is asking for your help in raising money to support and finance some of our club expenses this spring to reduce our athletes' out-of-pocket expenses. We are a student-run organization and thus we have limited resources. This creates challenges for our athletes and our ability to compete at a high level while representing Sac State! Two years previously in the national championships hosted in Kansas City, we placed 5th in our division and strive to surpass that this year! We are specifically in need of assistance when it comes to travel, lodging and equipment for 2 teams this upcoming 2025-2026 season! We anticipate these expenses will cost between $35,000- $40,000, so all financial contributions will extremely help support our student athletes' significantly stand out and reach our club's goals!

Rowing:

The rowing club needs YOUR help! We are shooting for gold this year at ACRA national championship regatta and to get to that point we need to continue to train hard but also do some fundraising. That's where you can help! Between travel costs for all regattas, equipment, and coaching we are looking at it costing about $15,000 dollars. Thank you for your dedication to this program!

Ski & Snowboard Team:

This year, our goal is ambitious: to embark on a journey to USCSA Nationals in Wilmington, New York at Whiteface Mountain. This pinnacle of collegiate snow sports competition not only offers our team the chance to compete at a higher level but also to bring home pride and recognition to our community. Our journey to get there consists of several local competitions at notable venues such as Mammoth and Sierra at Tahoe. Between competition entry fees, travel and lodging, and gear, our minimum expenses are around $20,000. With a dedicated team of 20 members, along with a new coach to support our athletes, external support is crucial.

Softball:

The Sacramento State Softball Club is seeking your support to help cover expenses for the upcoming seasons. As a student-run organization with limited resources, we face challenges in providing affordable opportunities for our athletes. We proudly compete in the NCSA Division I, representing Sac State on a national stage. To continue competing at this high level, we need assistance with travel, lodging, equipment, and World Series costs. Our anticipated expenses start at $22,000. Your contribution will directly reduce costs for our athletes and ensure that they can continue pursuing their passion for softball. Thank you for supporting our team and helping us reach our goals!

Women’s Basketball:

The Women's Basketball Club at Sacramento State will be participating in their league for the first time this season! As they plan to begin games in December 2025, they anticipate funding needs for uniforms, equipment, travel and other startup costs to get their club established. Your donation will help build the foundation of a great team! Thank you for your support in building our team!

Women’s Rugby:

As a student led club, Women’s Rugby athletes work hard and play hard in the classroom and on the field to give the best performance possible to represent Sac State academically and athletically. We are asking you to help us make our athletes’ financial burdens lighter by assisting us with our season expenses.  Your Women’s Rugby Club is aiming for nationals for the first time ever at D1 level and we need your help with travel expenses and tournament entry fees. Our estimated cost for the season is $30,000 and with your help we can participate at a national stage representing our community and university in the best way. Stingers Up!

Women’s Soccer:

The Women’s Soccer Club at Sacramento State needs your help in raising money for our fall season. All your donations will go to supporting our talented young women, providing them the means to purchase new equipment, new gear, and cover travel expenses, allowing our girls to continue competing at a high level. Our club needs $10,000-$12,000 to cover these expenses so your financial support will go a long way in alleviating some of the financial burden that these athletes face as being part of a student-led club. Please consider donating so that Women’s Soccer Club can continue inspiring and uplifting its amazing student athletes at Sac State!

Women's Volleyball:

The Sacramento State Women’s Volleyball Club is excited for another year, and we are asking for your support to make it a success. As a student-run team, we face many challenges to provide affordable opportunities for our athletes. We compete in the NCCVL against other universities in California, as well as the NCVF where we compete nationally, proudly representing Sacramento State. To continue competing at this high level, we need assistance with traveling, lodging, and tournament entry costs. Our anticipated expenses this year are about $30,000. Your contributions go directly to our club’s expenses and ease the out-of-pocket cost to the athletes. With your help, the Sacramento State Women’s Volleyball Club can continue to pursue their passion for volleyball. Thank you for supporting our team and helping us reach our goals!
