NASW-CA Lobby Days for Social Work Students

Sacramento State's accredited social work curriculum builds student competency in utilizing social justice, anti-racist, and anti-oppressive lenses to assess how social welfare policies affect the delivery of and access to social services. Making a gift to this fund benefits academic programs in Social Work such as enabling students to participate in NASW-CA Lobby Days.

Attending NASW-CA Lobby Days will provide hands-on experience that extends what is possible in our classrooms. The training provided at Lobby Days and the relationships they will make with other students and professionals across the state will add value to what they gain from their Sacramento State degree.

However, Lobby Days participation costs $100, which is out of reach for many of our students. This April, we plan to send 50 Social Work students to NASW-CA Lobby Days — an opportunity that will cost approximately $5,000 to make possible.

We appreciate your consideration in giving to our social work students who are the advocates for our community serving across the lifespan. This fund provides flexible support to benefit academic programs of the Division of Social Work and can be used to for student lobby days or additional program needs.
