Fueling Success: Equity, Snacks, and Workshops
The MLK Center is a dynamic hub for all students to explore African American heritage and culture. Our mission is grounded in the enduring legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and we aim to foster a culture of excellence, empowerment, and lifelong learning. Through strong collaborations with community organizations and local businesses, the center helps all interested students build critical college and career connections, while also offering robust cultural programming showcasing African American culture that promotes belonging.
As we prepare for the upcoming academic year, we are seeking community partners to support programming needs that directly benefit our students. Some areas that will benefit from support are: ensuring food security for our students, providing a welcoming and supportive environment for student engagement, and hosting two major cultural and community events each semester. Each event highlights student achievement, celebrates cultural identity, and fosters connection between students and the broader community.
Your support would make a tangible impact on our students and strengthen the work we do to uphold the values of Dr. King while achieving the goal of increasing the graduation and retention rate for students. This fund provides flexible support for the MLK Center and their top priorities — even as needs change.
Thank you in advance for supporting the MLK Center and our students!
