Students Supporting Students in Key STEM Courses

Students in Sacramento State’s science and math gateway courses work through complex material that builds the foundation for their academic paths. These students participate in collaborative learning through the Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) program, working alongside peers who have successfully completed the same courses.

PAL Facilitators guide structured group sessions, helping students review course concepts, solve problems, and prepare for exams. Students engage in cooperative learning led by trained peer facilitators, gaining experience in discussion-based learning while strengthening their understanding of course material. Through these sessions, students build confidence, improve study strategies, and stay connected to their academic goals.

Your contribution will help expand opportunities that support student learning, growth, and future success by ensuring students have access to consistent academic support as they progress through their programs.

Thank you for your generosity and for helping Sacramento State prepare students to contribute meaningfully to their communities and professions!
