Description
The Sacramento State Club Sports Program is home to 20 highly competitive student-run club sports that proudly represent the University in leagues, conferences, and tournaments at local, regional, and national levels. Each year, our Club Sports athletes dedicate countless hours to training, competing, and representing Sacramento State, with many clubs earning the opportunity to compete at Regional and National Championships. While the Club Sports Program and athlete dues cover a sizable portion of each club’s expenses, they do not cover everything. As a result, student-athletes often take on additional out-of-pocket costs to help make their competitive seasons possible.
We are asking for your support through a tax-deductible donation to help Sacramento State Club Sports athletes pursue their goals and compete at the highest levels of collegiate club sports. Your contribution can help offset travel expenses, equipment, coaching, uniforms, and other costs essential to building and sustaining a competitive program. For clubs that do not qualify for Regional or National Championships this year, donated funds will support other important program needs and help position those clubs for future success. All donated funds are transferred directly to the respective club’s Associated Students Inc. bank account and will be available for the club to use toward its identified needs.
Twelve of our 20 Club Sports have gone a step further by taking the time to personally share their club’s goals, aspirations, and specific funding needs. We invite you to read their stories, learn more about the athletes and sports you are helping support, and consider making a gift for the club—or clubs—that inspire you. The remaining Club Sports are also accepting donations to support their individual program needs, including Esports, Figure Skating, Men’s Rugby, Rowing, Ski & Snowboard Team, Stingerettes, Tennis, and Women’s Flag Football. Whether your contribution helps send a team to a championship, purchase essential equipment, cover travel expenses, support coaching, or strengthen a program for future competition, your support makes a meaningful difference. Together, we can help Sacramento State Club Sports athletes represent their University, pursue their competitive dreams, and build programs that future Hornets can continue to grow.
BASEBALL:
Sacramento State Club Baseball is a student-run baseball team of about 20 athletes who represent Sac State in a competitive national conference. We play about 30 games each year and require funding to cover expenses like travel, food, and equipment costs. While our Club Sports office provides essential support, it does not cover all of our operational needs, leaving our student-athletes to cover the rest through dues and donations.
You can help us lower the financial burden on our student-athletes, ensuring that all of us have the opportunity to represent Sac State while pursuing our dreams of a national championship. Our goal is to raise $6,000 to help us cover our operational needs. Even a small donation, like $20, can help us provide a meal for an athlete on the road.
⚾ Thank you for your generosity and for helping us reach our competitive goals! ⚾
BOWLING:
The Sacramento State Club Bowling is a student-run competitive club with approximately 10 dedicated members representing Sacramento State through collegiate bowling competitions. Our team competes in approximately 7 competitions each year, traveling throughout California and beyond to compete against other collegiate programs.
To help our club compete at our highest level, we are raising $3,000 to support essential expenses such as food, gas, travel costs, and bowling gear. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps make it possible for our student-athletes to participate in competitions and represent Sacramento State. Your support can help cover meals on the road, transportation to tournaments, and equipment needed to compete. Thank you for supporting the Sacramento State Bowling Club and investing in our students and our competitive goals. We truly appreciate your generosity!
COMP CHEER:
The Sacramento State Club Competitive Cheerleading Team is a club sport with 52 strong athletes. Members fundraise individually to cover all expenses of the season with help from the Club Sports office. If individual fundraising goals aren’t met, the rest is paid out of pocket.
We compete against Cheer Clubs from across the U.S. for our Spring Nationals Competition in Daytona, Florida. This event requires many moving parts including flights, hotels, meals, gear, and any other travel expenses. Our goal is for all athletes to be able to participate without financial issues or struggles. Any donation as small as $15 will help towards our expenses. Thank you so much for helping support our program!
COMP DANCE:
The Sacramento State Club Competitive Dance Team provides unwavering spirit and represents the University at the national level in Division 1 Hip Hop, where we are currently ranked third in the nation. A dedicated roster of 16 student-athletes often depend on fundraising and clinic revenues to fund this trip across the country to compete in Daytona Beach, Florida and keep the club operational. While the Club Sports office provides essential support, it does not cover the full scope of our operational needs.
This competition requires significant resources, including choreography, booking flights, providing meals during the trips, and costuming/gear. Your donation directly bridges the gap between our budget and these necessities. Our goal is to raise $2,000-$4,000 to ensure that every athlete has the opportunity to represent Sacramento State without financial burden. Even a small donation, such as $20, can provide a meal for an athlete during the competitive season. Thank you for your generosity and for helping us reach our program goals!
CRICKET:
The Cricket Club at Sacramento State is a newly established Club Sport with a goal of building a strong, sustainable collegiate cricket program for Sac State students. With approximately 15 members and growing, we welcome students of all experience levels—from experienced cricket players to those discovering the sport for the first time. This year, we are preparing for regular practices and our first intercollegiate competitions, with plans to play and host friendly matches, tournaments, and collegiate competitions against universities throughout Northern California and beyond. Sacramento State, the Club Sports program, and ASI have provided valuable support as we launch the program, and we are incredibly grateful for their investment in our club.
As a first-year program, we have important startup and program-building costs that go beyond the University's initial support. Our $7,500 launch-year fundraising goal will help us purchase essential equipment, including a proper cricket boundary rope, cricket balls, and training equipment; cover storage, transportation, field and match-day supplies, scoring and officiating needs; support the costs of hosting intercollegiate matches and tournaments; and help with travel expenses for away competitions. Fundraising may also allow us, subject to University and Club Sports policies, to provide a modest stipend or honorarium for our coach, who has generously volunteered their time throughout the past year to help establish and develop the club. Every contribution, regardless of size, directly helps us build the foundation for a competitive and sustainable program.
Most importantly, your support will create opportunities for more Sac State students to participate in cricket without placing the full cost of establishing a new sports program on individual members. A donation can help provide match or training equipment, contribute toward our boundary rope, support coaching and player development, or help make an intercollegiate match or tournament possible. Our goal is not simply to create a team for one season, but to establish a lasting cricket program where students can learn, compete for their university, build friendships and leadership experience, and help grow collegiate cricket throughout Northern California. Please consider supporting the Cricket Club at Sacramento State with a donation today. Your contribution will help us take another step toward building a program that current and future Hornets can be proud to call their own.
MEN’S SOCCER:
The Sacramento State Men's Soccer Club is a competitive club on campus, we compete in Norcal II in US College Club Soccer. We have 2 league competitions per year and 14 league games. This is a student run club with about 30 members. We are fundraising to be able to buy new training wear, with our ultimate goal being $2,000. Any donation small or large is appreciated, we would like to reach this goal because with most of our money coming from student dues and allocated budget money from Sacramento State it goes toward necessary player fees and club transactions. Thank you for donation and helping us fulfil our goals as a club.
Men’s Volleyball:
Sacramento State Men’s Club Volleyball is a competitive student-run organization with A and B teams comprising more than 30 student-athletes. While the Club Sports office provides valuable support, it does not cover all of the expenses required to operate and compete at a high level. As a result, our athletes often contribute personal funds through club dues.
Each year, we compete in approximately six major tournaments, traveling throughout the region and requiring funding for transportation, meals, tournament fees, equipment, and other essential expenses. Our goal is to raise $3,000–$5,000 so that every athlete has the opportunity to represent Sacramento State without financial hardship.
Your donation can make a meaningful difference. Even a contribution of $20 can help provide a meal for an athlete during a tournament road trip. Every dollar brings us closer to our goal and helps our team continue to grow, compete, and represent Sacramento State with pride.

Your donation directly bridges that gap between our budget and necessities. We currently have around 30 players, and in order for everyone to compete, members are required to pay dues and commit a considerable amount of time to the club. Throughout the season, we compete in a number of tournaments and games. One of the big tournaments that we have competed in is the CRAA college 7’s national tournament, where we have the opportunity to play against teams across the country. Your donation would go towards travel expenses, providing meals during our travels, and gear. We are hoping to raise $10,000 in donations which will also help us get better equipment to help prepare us to compete nationally. If you can only donate $20, that's great! It is still a meal for one of the team while they are traveling. Thank you for your generosity!
